Jenna Fischer was best known for her role as Pam Beesly (the character of The Office) in the television show. Her role on The Office earned her an Emmy nomination for best supporting Actress category. She also received two SAG Awards, both for exceptional performances in the cast of a comedy.
She was born in Fort Wayne, Indiana, but was raised mostly in St. Louis, Missouri. Jenna's mother Anne often performed in church dramas as a child This sparked her passion for theater.
After finishing The Office, Fischer, an actress trained in theater, returned to her roots. She starred in the Off-Broadway production Reasons to Be Happy that was directed and written by Neil LaBute and co-starring Josh Hamilton, Leslie Bibb, and Fred Weller. In the following play, she was in Steve Martin's new show Meteor Shower. It was an absurdist comedic piece opposite Greg Germann, Josh Stamberg and ran for record breaking time at Old Globe Theatre.
The Office co-star Angela Kinsey and Fischer launched Office Ladies, a podcast hosted by Earwolf on October 19, 2019. The show has been a huge success, reaching the Top Ten worldwide every week, and receiving more than 200 million downloads during its first two-years. Office Ladies was awarded the iHeart Radio Podcast of the Year award in January 2021.
She's also the author of The Actor's Life : A Survival Guide (coauthored by Angela Kinsey) In it, her tale of relocating from St. Louis to Hollywood as a professional actress is detailed.
